A system for organizing papers.

I have tried various "systems" throughout the years to control and organize the daily papers that need to be actioned in our household. I am yet to find a system that works at home, but I am waiting to conquer that once we have redone our office in December. But for the stuff you need to carry around with you I have come up with a system that I thought I would share that has been working for our family.

I am not sure about the rest of you but one of the things I find the hardest with kids papers for schools/daycare/kindy/sport/gym etc is getting it from filled out of the bench to the actual correct location stage- without it getting lost or ruined. This may be different for you and your family bit this is the part I struggle with. So when I found these cute file folders a few weeks ago I thought these would work a treat!!

So I have 3 folders running at the moment- (this will most likely increase with each child)

1. Daycare/ kindy- this is for all of the paperwork, surveys and newsletters that end up coming home that you may want to read or that you need to send back.

2. Household- bills, newsletters and paperwork that you need to post, followup etc

3. Flynn's File- anything directly related to Flynn that needs to be followed up, doctors letters shoe size chart (will show this later) etc.

I have labelled all of the folders so that they can be changed if necessary at a later stage. I keep these file folders in a large tote bag that lives with me and in my car. This bag is separate to my handbag and holds things like- the file folders, laptop, diary, water bottle, work lunch etc. I take it to work and then it come into the house with me at night. The great things about this system is I can throw stuff in the bag through the night when I am at home and organize it when I am at the office the next day. I think utilizing time at work (lunch breaks etc) is a great way to be able to get small jobs/ paperwork done so that you don't have to worry about them when you are at home.
